LABUAN: The historic Surrender Point at Layang-Layangan here – site of the Japanese surrender of Sarawak and British North Borneo in 1945 – has been upgraded to befit its stature as an important site in war history.

Kota Kinabalu: The declassified Australian investigations into the Nomad crash that claimed 11 lives on 6.6.1976 revealed that pilots of the Sabah Air-owned aircraft would simply “eye-ball” the location of baggage before taking off.

Kota Kinabalu: On the last flight from Kota Kinabalu to Labuan at the invitation of Captain Ghandi, another Sabah Air pilot (Captain Kevin Sario) occupied the right-hand seat.

Kota Kinabalu: The report also suggested the likely crash sequence where it stated that on the basis of the available evidence it is apparent that Ghandi made a flapless take-off, climb to cruising level, cruise and initial descent towards the downwind leg all without incident.
